Connection Consultations

The Connection Consultations is a consultation practice offering individual, couple, and family consultations as well as group sessions. In our work, we pay special attention to an integrated view that includes discursive, intercultural, neuro-affirmative, and LGBTQ-affirmative approaches, ensuring an accepting and safe relational space for everyone who turns to us.

"IIf one is truly to succeed in leading a person to a specific place, one must first and foremost take care to find him where he is and begin there.
This is the secret in the entire art of helping." (Søren Kierkegaard, translated by Anna Csekő-Szél)

In our facility, we provide a wide selection of services that support our clients in managing challenges, reducing stress, self-awareness, and coping. We provide individual consultations on numerous topics and with various methods. These aim to support those who turn to us in discovering their resources and developing their interpretations and solutions. We pay special attention to life-history interpretive work and identity issues. Our special individual consultation is individual systemic consultation, which combines the approach of individual consultation and couple and family therapy.

Our groups are venues for shared thinking, experience sharing, and social support, which we launch using various methods (lifestyle counseling, bibliotherapy, discursive therapy) on diverse topics of relationships, the body, and communication.

Our mini groups combine the advantages of personal counseling and support groups. Due to their small size, they provide more space for sharing personal experiences.

Methods

Lifestyle Counseling and Therapy

The aim of lifestyle counseling and therapy is to develop and maintain a personalized lifestyle and life management plan, whether it relates to organizing daily tasks, scheduling, nutrition, exercise, recharging, or stress management. Particular emphasis is placed on creating and maintaining energy accounting, which we consider one of the foundations of personal well-being.

Bibliotherapy

Bibliotherapy is an art therapy method that supports personality development and self-awareness through the processing of literary texts. It can help in solving life management difficulties, decision-making, and coping with stress. It can be useful in processing loss and grief, crises, trauma, and emotionally taxing life situations; it also develops the ability to recognize and express emotions, as well as vocabulary and communication skills. Bibliotherapy is mostly used in groups, but there is also a possibility to involve literary works during individual consultations.

Couple and Family Therapy

Relationships stand at the focus of couple and family therapy, which we conduct in the method of discursive, collaborative family therapy. In  our understanding, realtionships are etablished, formed, and changed in communicative ways. The therapy encourages the recognition and shaping of relational and family communication patterns. Communication includes not just verbality, but also pictorial and bodily manifestations, as well as emotional communication, so the therapeutic sessions take place with the involvement of these elements. Systemic individual counselling is also an option when one member of the couple or family members cannot be involved in therapy.

All our services, consultations, and groups are collaborative, self-awareness-based, and supportive conversations and processes, where the emphasis is on understanding and exploring possibilities for change and adjustment. None of the services we offer qualify as healthcare activities, are not diagnostic in nature, and are not psychiatric or clinical psychotherapeutic treatments.

Why is it worth working with us?

Personalized Process

Following our helping perspective, we rely on a wide range of methods. However, methods are only tools, which we apply comprehensively and personally in every case, taking into account the resources, individual needs, and goals of those who turn to us.

Holistic, Integrative Perspective

Seeing the person as a unified whole, we consider the perspective of embodiment (existence in the body) important, the integration of physical and sensory experiences, the consideration of the social and societal context of lived experiences, as well as supporting the meaning-making processes that interpret these.

Experienced Therapists

Our team of qualified and experienced professionals combines expertise with a holistic, client-centered, dialogue-based approach. We place great emphasis on continuously updating and expanding our knowledge to provide our clients with the best possible care.

Introduction

20220420_115631_HDR.jpg

We are committed to providing counseling and consultation support at a high professional level. Our perspective is holistic, as we view the human being as a whole, living in relationships and society, and discursive, which takes into account the dynamic interaction between the individual, their relationships, and their environment, as well as the role of life-history experiences and communication situations. Our approach is also discursive in the sense that we view therapeutic work as dialogical, where the emphasis is on interpretation and understanding. We work with numerous methods and an integrative approach. The selection of methods and the construction of the process is personalized in every case, taking into account the current difficulties, goals, and resources of those who turn to us.
